Huma eleven, Vienna’s most modern shopping center at Simmering, comes alive on November 24, with the illumination of a spectacular 19.5 meter Christmas Comet crowned by what is probably Europe’s largest illuminated star, all glistening with 9,000 points of light. The center has a Christmas market, with Advent singing and childcare, and a magnificent 12-meter Christmas tree with 12,000 LEDs and 1,200 Christmas balls. The idea for the comet Christmas decoration came from huma eleven’s manager Stephan Kalteis: “We set standards in Austria in matters of design, as you can see by our huge fountain. So we also wanted to do something special with our Christmas decoration. What could be better than a dazzling comet in XXL format?” Another example of very special MK Illumination creative lighting and festive decoration!

At Christmas time, the Hungarian capital will be lit up again by MK Illumination with the glitter and sparkle of thousands of white, red and golden stars, flowers and balls.
Decorative MK lighting effects will be used around Oktogon and Opéra, over four hundred different candelabra ornaments combined with floral and figurative MK motifs such as ‘Angel in Love’, ‘Violin’ or ‘Nordic Wind’, transforms Varoshàza Park and its surrounding main streets and squares into an impressive illuminated experience, and in Andrássy Street, 173 trees will be decorated with around two hundred thousand warm shimmering LED light points alongside our ‘ice drops’ effect light features. The spectacular winter and Christmas ornaments will be set to enchant the residents of Budapest as well as their countless guests for another four years.
Early in autumn, when the seasonal colors and light are at their most magnificent, MK Illumination are already busy mounting stunning lighting displays all around the globe. Many locations opt to turn on their Advent lighting displays at the end of November.
This year the focus has been on the creation of real lighting ‘works of art’. Like, for example, the illumination of the Cathedral of Antwerp, the 60m high tower in Zurich’s “Sihlcity”, or the 20m high tree in Shanghai. The mounting and assembly of each of these spectacular displays has only been made possible due to the professional skills and expertise of highly qualified installation specialists. They are the ones that bring these creative lighting projects to life. And they do it by not only satisfying the most exact standards of health and safety, but also by guaranteeing optimal light output and efficiency.
In many regions and countries MK Illumination now has its own installation teams, but also likes to work with proven partners. For example, with the Innsbruck specialist company ” ATT high access work” – a part of the MK Illumination ‘extended family’ for many years. But professional skills are not only necessary for mounting the displays; optimal care and attention is also necessary for their dismantling and storage. Because they have clearly identifiable characteristics and receive very special care, the lighting products from MK Illumination are also guaranteed to have proven unbeatable durability.
