MK Illumination is once more a leader in the industry thanks to another innovation from the company with headquarters in the Austrian Tyrol. It recently developed the first certified professional light chain system in the market with an IP-Rating of IP67. The latest product is now available on the world market.
On the one hand the IP67 means that the String Lite® is dust-tight, and on the other, that they are also waterproof up to one meter in depth for a minimum of 30 minutes. This has been made possible by a double gasket system. This means that the current standard gasket is supported by an additional laminar sealing ring. The new IP67-QuickFix® Connector series is color coded, which is also compatible with the previous connector system by means of adaptors. The String Lite® system is copyrighted.
The timeless design of the good old tungsten light bulb is in the process of disappearing from our households. MK Illumination is dedicating another example of its own product development to bring this popular classic and piece of nostalgia back to the streets and squares of the world in over- dimensional size.
We are pleased to offer our Edison XL 36 Volt in the following versions:
· „Edison XL“ – the model in warmwhite and brilliantwhite, in two different sizes
· „Edison XL RGBW“ – the innovative version as RGBW – each individually controllable with DMX
· „Edison XL Kinetic/RGBW“ – the high-end version for especially spectacular and emotionally charged projects.
There are various possible uses for the “Edison XL”, either as single decorative elements, in combination with Snowballs or Supernovas, or aesthetically arranged as an entire tree. We were able to demonstrate a first impression of how these retro bulbs are so wonderfully effective today when integrated into modern design by demonstrating the “„Edison XL Kinetic/RGBW“ as part of a special lighting installation at our 20th Anniversary celebrations last September.
Now we take pleasure in inviting you to our MK Illumination trade fair stand (Hall 11.0/D40) and to ABRAXUS by MK Illumination in Hall 11.0/C.78 at “Christmasworld” in Frankfurt (27th to 31st January 2017). See for yourself how effective these bulbs can be.
The impressive “Hometown Project Museumstraße” in Innsbruck’s city center demonstrates how Experience Marketing can also function in ‘analog’ mode. The heart shape of the display was transformed into the central motif of the fantastic lighting installation in the shopping street, thus conveying the sincere, and ‘heartfelt’ warmth of all the employees in the retail shops. And it is all about these warm-hearted people who affix hearts to the shop windows along the whole street, and who inside as well as outside share their hearts with the customers.
Huma eleven, Vienna’s most modern shopping center at Simmering, comes alive on November 24, with the illumination of a spectacular 19.5 meter Christmas Comet crowned by what is probably Europe’s largest illuminated star, all glistening with 9,000 points of light. The center has a Christmas market, with Advent singing and childcare, and a magnificent 12-meter Christmas tree with 12,000 LEDs and 1,200 Christmas balls. The idea for the comet Christmas decoration came from huma eleven’s manager Stephan Kalteis: “We set standards in Austria in matters of design, as you can see by our huge fountain. So we also wanted to do something special with our Christmas decoration. What could be better than a dazzling comet in XXL format?” Another example of very special MK Illumination creative lighting and festive decoration!

The historical roots of ‘Leinenweberei’, the textile art from Ried im Innkreis, date back to the 18th century, and are the reason behind the Weberzeile shopping mall name. For the 2015 Christmas decorations, MK Illumination adopted this beautiful reference as the jewelry motif for illuminated design objects and created impressive handmade knitted covers for the glittering lights. The organic forms of our Arundo reeds from the original knitted fabrics of the region were adapted to the architecture of Weberzeile, and provided a completely harmonious atmosphere with its warm white light. The suitably festive decoration on the facade and over the entrance was part of MK Illumination’s totally integrated concept and transformed Weberzeile into an attractive destination point.
