The timeless design of the good old tungsten light bulb is in the process of disappearing from our households. MK Illumination is dedicating another example of its own product development to bring this popular classic and piece of nostalgia back to the streets and squares of the world in over- dimensional size.
We are pleased to offer our Edison XL 36 Volt in the following versions:
· „Edison XL“ – the model in warmwhite and brilliantwhite, in two different sizes
· „Edison XL RGBW“ – the innovative version as RGBW – each individually controllable with DMX
· „Edison XL Kinetic/RGBW“ – the high-end version for especially spectacular and emotionally charged projects.
There are various possible uses for the “Edison XL”, either as single decorative elements, in combination with Snowballs or Supernovas, or aesthetically arranged as an entire tree. We were able to demonstrate a first impression of how these retro bulbs are so wonderfully effective today when integrated into modern design by demonstrating the “„Edison XL Kinetic/RGBW“ as part of a special lighting installation at our 20th Anniversary celebrations last September.
Now we take pleasure in inviting you to our MK Illumination trade fair stand (Hall 11.0/D40) and to ABRAXUS by MK Illumination in Hall 11.0/C.78 at “Christmasworld” in Frankfurt (27th to 31st January 2017). See for yourself how effective these bulbs can be.
Boeuf Rouge calls itself a pretty unique steakhouse. Just a few kilometres outside of Montreal, it practices the principle of bring-your-own-wine while offering a very cosy atmosphere. To visually support the unique branding of Rouge Boeuf, we staged a Christmas dream in red with our LED string lites within the restaurant windows – budgeted accordingly, this simple and effective lighting concept not only supported the cosy atmosphere inside the restaurant, but also communicated a welcome invitation to the outside from afar. Bon appetit!
The Victoria Quarter in Leeds was graced with elegance and sophistication, thanks to MK Illumination. The brief was simple: to create a Christmas concept that enhanced the architecture of the Grade X listed buildings.
MK Illumination created a decorative scheme that set the bar high. An X m tree became the focal point for the scheme with an oversized “VQ” installed on the front. This central element became the most photographed installation within the area appearing on social media numerous times and becoming labelled ‘iconic’. The use of a single silver colour palate linked with white light created the chic style that matched the historical buildings being pitched as best practice within the Hammerson portfolio.
Marseille, a popular French city on the Mediterranean was the focus of a new project by MK Illumination that took the blue and white colours of the sea as its inspiration.
In a project for the City of Marseille, the inner city precinct was adorned by two kilometres of E14 String Lites strung like jewels across the streets. Including 590 specially designed organic motifs mounted on poles. All elements guaranteed the design had an attractive appearance both day and night. The entire installation included a staggering 224,000 of MK Illumination’s special energy saving, patented LEDs.
The organic motifs and the energy friendly LEDs delivered a strong sustainable design for the customer. The illuminations were further enhanced by the projection of poetic sentences on the wall of City Hall that were also inspired by the sea.
